"We have seen well over 4500 patients over the years with over 80%  of our new patients now coming to us through word of mouth referrals directly, or through our excellent links with local GP’s and other health specialists. We are very proud of the reputation we have"

WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

Osteopathy is a method of assessing, treating and preventing a wide range of health problems  adopting a person centred approach that strives to promote the optimum conditions for restoration of health.

Osteopathy is concerned with that which has compromised health rather than just the resulting symptoms.  The body has the natural ability to adapt and maintain itself within the stresses and strains of its environment and by helping this process, an osteopath can promote restoration of normal function and health. The principle of osteopathy is that the wellbeing of an individual relies on the way that joints, muscles, ligaments, connective tissue, blood supply and other internal structures work with each other whilst taking time to consider the emotional and physical stresses the body may be under in day to day life.
Osteopaths have been regulated by the General Osteopathic Council since 1993. They are trained as primary care practitioners to diagnose conventionally and also to use their hands to assess body function and dysfunction. This gives the osteopath uniquely sensitive information about the disability within the body and how this insight might be used to help restore health.
